I am involved in a condo association. This association passed a budget at the beginning of the year, and now the administration is spending freely without any concern of what is in the budget.
What is wrong with this picture?
Do you have a budget, at home? at work? Do you follow it?

That is protocol. For most, the budget is just dotting your i’s.
Once its completed, it is just a paper you get each month that you don’t even read. I am on the board of my HOA and with some simple accounting practices, we are operating 25% below last year’s budget. Yes we are a little more involved in doing some simple things and members now take letters on occasion but at least 10% was from waste that wasn’t needed..

Thanks for the insight into your condo association William.
We need to have u come and operate our condo (in Mexico–if u don’t mind coming down).
The admin spends like crazy and the people seem not to care, and just accept the increases to the HOA fees.
Crazy! I yell and scream at the annual meetings and it is like talking to myself.
A budget is a good thing if it is followed!
